Infrastructure
The infrastructure for a number of services the residents of Westbury rely on are owned and managed by the Co-op. With the park built in the early 1970's, there are a number of areas where components in these systems are reaching the end of their usable life. Looking ahead, we will need to be proactive in determining capital costs for replacement of these components as well as realistic costs for operation and maintenance. The current discussion for a village is limited specifically to the Community water system. Although the formation of a village would allow for expansion into other public services and public infrastructure, as with water, the voters in the village would need to approve a plan to do so and then work to convince the co-op it would be in their interest as well.
